Cottage, Traditional, and Victorian designs are making a resurgence in designer bedrooms.

Luxury linen stores sell bedding ensembles that fit perfectly with every one of the new designer styles, including Cottage and Country.

To maintain the modern designer styles, stick to large squares and bold burgundy colors. Floral patterns are also acceptable in the bedding ensembles, as long as the patterns are large, and the color scheme matches today's designs.

Bedding Fabric Is Key

The key to creating the perfect designer room is not in the furniture but in the fabric.  Fabric softens the room. Bedding sets with pillows and sheets with fringes are preferred over wide satin strips.

If one person wants a room that is Cottage or Shabby Chic and their partner wants elegance, then consider a bedding set that includes Jacquard  or Damask patterns.
