Items like luxury shower curtains, soaps and some of the truly elegant items available are overlooked until it is too late to include them. 

One of the best inspirations for an impressive bathroom is a resort spa.  Home design magazines and television shows are still behind the luxury of the bathrooms in a resort spa. 

That Luxury Spa Look

The good news is that anyone can create a luxury spa without needing to invest thousands of dollars.  The first thing that people need is a comfortable bathtub. These are available in most hardware and home decorating stores.

There are some wonderful new designs, but make sure that they can be used with bathroom shower curtains.

Some curved and triangular bathtub shapes make it almost impossible to use bathroom shower curtains - unless you know a few tricks. 

One of the most overlooked tricks can truly set of a set of luxury shower curtains.  Some of today's whirl-pool tubs or triangular tubs need shower rods longer than the standard size.

There are two options. 

The first option is to replace the shower curtains with glass or mirror doors, which are almost impossible to be kept clean.

The second is to step 'out of the box' and let inspiration turn two sets of luxury shower curtains into the room's focal point.

This is not difficult to do.  The first thing you need is one length of doweling. These come in all sizes up to twelve feet, more than long enough to span most tubs.

Instead of putting one set of bathroom shower curtains on the bar, mix and match. Luxury shower curtains should be treated like drapes.

Today's patterns and designs carry the decorating design from other rooms into the bathroom. 

Luxury shower curtains in cloth can be draped and gathered just like living room drapes. This is where bathroom shower curtains excel.

Bathroom shower curtains gathered in deep pocket balloons catch the eye, making a large bathroom look more intimate.  A center set of contrasting luxury shower curtains can fall gracefully.

This is a great technique for small rooms. The 'curtain' look makes smaller bathrooms look larger. This illusion is heightened when company is over by leaving the tub light on. 

A small television or radio adds to the spa look.  Most people believe the bathroom is for entering, cleaning, and leaving. This does not mean the bathroom must look like a functional room.

This 'laundry room' mentality makes it so difficult for people to design an elegant or fun bathroom, or select the right luxury shower curtains. 

When it comes time to decorate your bathroom, or if the room just needs a facelift, select a good set of bathroom shower curtains and then treat them like drapes.

Hey, you may just find that you begin spending more and more time in your elegant, "new" bathroom.
